In a New York Times op-ed article (May 20), Terri Mills shares her thoughts in "America's Nurse". She has an interesting idea. See what you think about the 'National Nurse' idea or…maybe it should be the Nurse General? Anyway, share your thoughts/comments with the Medscape Nurses readers.

I enjoyed the National Nurse article but we may already have one--in the form of the surgeon general. The current surgeon general, Richard Carmona is is an RN and MD--he also has a MPH. There was a recent article and interview with him in Reflections on Nursing Leadership and he was very supportive of nursing.
