I enjoyed the National Nurse article but we may already have one--in the form of the surgeon general. The current surgeon general, Richard Carmona is is an RN and MD--he also has a MPH. There was a recent article and interview with him in Reflections on Nursing Leadership and he was very supportive of nursing.
